Linesøya
Linesøya is an island along the coast of central Norway, about 100 km north of Trondheim. This beautiful island, part of the municipalitity of Åfjord, is accessible by good roads and a ferryboat (in 2011 a new bridge will be ready). About 80 permanent residents live on the island, where farming still is the main source of income.
People have lived on Linesøya since the Stone Age, because of the rich fishing grounds around the island and because farming is suitable due to the relatively mild climate. The island is also known for its rich birdlife and flora.
Activities
Linesøya offers excellent opportunities for sea fishing, diving (ship wrecks), kayaking, walking, hiking, mountain climbing, cycling, horsback riding and hunting.
Accomodation
Vågan feriegård is situated in a peaceful location surronded by beautiful natural landscape. The farm consists of a house and a building with 3 apartments. Each unit provides accomodation to 6-8 people and is fully equipped.
The house has 4 bedrooms upstairs, and the apartments have 1 bedroom (with double bed) plus an attic with single beds.
There is access to a drying room, a sauna and an area for cleaning fish.
Included in the rental is an 18-foot boat which is moored in a marina about 2 km away or in a smaller marina 100 m from the farm. The distance to the local store with post office is about 4,6 km.
